Thankful Tuesdays: Sinking sand

Little boy has been waking up almost every hour for the past two nights.  I'm not sure if he's falling sick again, but I've spent the nights scrunched up next to him so that both of us manage to get a little more sleep.  The days have been spent in mild dis-orientation, with snatched naps on the sofa.  However, I'm glad that the boy's appetite is better now, and he's been quite a good kid in the day (less tantrums, less "I don't want"s, more cheerfulness).  So while its a season of change, I am very thankful for the steady, unchanging nature of God and His promises:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
No merit of my own I claim,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found!
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!

What are you thankful for this week?
